South Wall Border

A long south facing border backed by the old kitchen garden wall. Much heavier and wetter soil than the road border. Horsetail is the keenest weed.

Planted over the last 50 years it contains mature specimens of several interesting trees including the Pocket Handkerchief Tree and the Pagoda tree.In the top corner is a tall Tulip tree, a temporary planting for use elsewhere, but never moved.

Among the plants growing on the wall are grapevines, a fig and three camellias.
