Herb Garden

At the top end on one side of the site is the old herb garden. It is walled on the north and east, with a holly hedge at the west end and a beech hedge to the south.

Its central feature is a fat box hedge. The years the site was closed allowed the neatly trimmed edging of the central bed to become the bulging beauty of the box edge world.

The brambles and bindweed have been beaten back. The survivors from 12 years ago include comfrey, horseradish and globe artichokes.
